A rooibos-based blend in which the acidity of the orange is counterbalanced by the sweetness of the carrot.

Let's find out more about the ingredients of the rooibos, orange and carrot infusion

Rooibos is a fake tea originally from South Africa, in the definition fake of course there is no negative value, in fact rooibos has a flavor similar to that of tea, all the beneficial aspects (such as the antioxidant content) and does not contain caffeine which as we know is not very good. By the way: theine and caffeine are exactly the same thing, the same molecule, but when chemists realized this the name theine had already taken hold, but coffee contains more of it. So why fake tea? Simply because the name tea should only be used for infusions obtained from the Camellia sinensis plant. Rooibos is a bushy plant native to the Cederberg region of South Africa whose scientific name is Aspalathus linearis and belongs to the Fabaceae family (the same as legumes). Rooibos, which means red bush in Afrikaans, is used both to indicate the plant and the product obtained from it and in fact it is the product that is red, the bush is not red at all, the leaves are green, they become red with the fermentation that precedes drying and shredding. The preparation of the drink by infusion is almost identical to that of tea which is in fact an infusion, only a little longer (according to some). The flavor as we said is similar to that of tea but sweeter and with notes of earth and tobacco.
The orange as everyone knows is a citrus fruit and is native to Asia, the scientific name is Citrus × sinensis, sinensis like tea? Nothing strange, sinensis simply means native to China (in reality the area of origin extends to other countries in the Southeast Asian area).
The x means that the species is a hybrid, almost all citrus fruits are hybrids, the orange is a hybrid born from the cross between pomelo and mandarin. It is believed (based on DNA analysis) that the three original citrus fruits are pomelo, mandarin and citron. The ancients already knew this fruit, but this does not mean that it was widespread in Roman times, in the Middle Ages the Arabs made a partial introduction in the European lands under their dominion (Spain, Sicily), but in reality the real diffusion of the orange in Europe only came with the Portuguese in the 15th century. Now however the orange is probably the most cultivated fruit in the world, wherever the climate allows it, that is where the winters (since it is a winter fruit) are mild and in fact enormous quantities are produced in Spain, southern Italy, but also in the USA in California and Florida.
The carrot is a spontaneous plant, widespread in Europe, Asia and North Africa, the wild plant is even considered a weed. The scientific name is Daucus carota and it belongs to the Apiaceae family (no, bees have nothing to do with it, the name of the family comes from the Latin name for celery). It is cultivated in all the temperate zones of the globe, notoriously the edible part is the taproot, that is the main orange-colored root. Notoriously carrots and oranges are often combined in fruit juices not only for how they balance the flavors but because they are an excellent mix of vitamins since oranges are rich in vitamin
