The values ​​indicated are contained in 100 grams of almonds, it should always be remembered that it is advisable not to consume more than 30 grams of dried fruit per day in order not to exceed the calories.

Curiosities about almonds

The first is not a curiosity but a food advice, prefer the unpeeled almonds, it has been discovered that many of the beneficial substances are contained in the skin.

Almonds are also mentioned in the Bible "The next day Moses entered the tent of the Testimony and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi had blossomed: it had produced sprouts, it had made flowers bloom and matured almonds. " (Numbers 17, 23).

How to use smoked almonds in the kitchen

The taste of smoked almonds lends itself well to delicious aperitifs, but can also be used in recipes, especially desserts. We have chosen a very simple and delicious dessert.

Salted chocolate with smoked almonds

Ingredients

  • 225 g. of couverture chocolate with 53% cocoa
  • 1/2 cup of smoked almonds
  • The tip of a teaspoon of sea salt (preferably fleur de sel and not too fine)

Preparation

1) Cover a pan with a diameter of about 20 cm with parchment paper.

2) Chop the almonds very coarsely.

3) Chop the chocolate, put it in a microwave-safe bowl.

4) Heat it at maximum power for about 1 minute.

5) Take out the bowl, and mix; if there are still pieces of chocolate, heat another 15 seconds, and so on until the chocolate is completely melted.

6) Pour half of the almonds into the chocolate and mix

7) Pour the mixture into the pan.

8) Sprinkle the remaining almonds on top, and then sprinkle with sea salt.

9) Let it cool for at least an hour.

10) Break the smoked almond salted chocolate into pieces and store in an airtight container at room temperature.
