A 100% cocoa paste bar is a product for true chocolate lovers and connoisseurs or for those who are curious to discover what pure cocoa tastes like. We would not recommend offering it to children, it would hardly meet the taste of the little ones, if you have tried extra dark chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa you will have an idea, first you appreciate all the flavor of the chocolate and its bitterness is often mitigated by an addition of sugar, but then if the percentage of cocoa is very high its natural bitterness arrives as a wave of aftertaste.

In the case of this bar there is no added sugar, but this way you can truly appreciate the flavor of pure cocoa. Aside from being a cocoa purist or being curious, there are also health reasons why you might want to enjoy a 100% cocoa paste bar, among others: the flavonoid content is higher the higher the percentage of cocoa, the glycemic index is lower the higher the percentage of cocoa.

In a bar without added sugar (or any other substance) the glycemic index will be really low if compared to that of a normal dark chocolate and therefore it will be suitable for diabetics, keeping in mind that even bitter cocoa still contains a part of sugars, in the form of carbohydrates and that the glycemic index therefore, although low, will not be zero, in fact the glycemic index of bitter cocoa is equal to 20, the same as dark chocolate with a cocoa content equal to or greater than 85%. The cocoa paste used to make this bar is organic.
