The precious charm of cast iron teapots is clearly visible in this version that offers both black and air force blue, to harmoniously combine beauty and practicality. High-quality cast iron allows the teapot to retain heat better than any other material. It allows for long-term conservation of the heat of the water, keeping the tea at the optimal serving temperature for about an hour, in a constant and uniform manner. In the oriental tradition, the cast iron teapot represents a unique tool for preparing loose leaf tea - a ritual that combines elegance and knowledge. Built in cast iron and protected by an internal enamel coating, the teapot adopts a classic and long-lasting material. It allows the traditional infusion method, which favors the release of aromas and flavors of the loose leaves in the filter: the prerequisites for an exquisite tasting. Thanks to the thermal capacity of cast iron, the tea does not cool down immediately and can be poured calmly; serving to guests without boiling new water or keeping a hot plate under the teapot. This teapot enameled inside, prevents rust and oxidation. The coating with food enamel eliminates the slight porosity of the cast iron that could lead to health risks. In addition, it does not retain memory of the infusions: it becomes a neutral tool to infuse various types of different teas, without the flavors mixing. The cast iron teapot can be used to boil water, or just to prepare tea. The large capacity of the teapot, approximately 1000 ml, makes it perfect for preparing approximately 4-5 cups of tea.
The teapot with basket diffuser filter
Includes a stainless steel tea infuser, with the removable basket shape and the fine mesh of the strainer. The filter simplifies the preparation of loose tea leaves, allows you to prepare tea directly inside the cast iron teapot. The steel diffuser is also suitable for herbal and herbal tea blends, thanks to the fine mesh strainer - which also retains small elements. The tea filter has a wide shape, it helps the leaves to expand better in the boiling water, increasing the flavor and aroma of the tea. The width of the basket improves the infusion by completely breaking down the structure of the leaves in the water. The flat lid helps to seal in the flavor and moisture during the infusion. Stainless steel makes the infusion safe for food use, while the removable basket helps to collect the leaves. The leaves are inserted into the filter, which is placed in the enamel teapot. You can insert the basket and then pour hot water (preheated with a pot or kettle) over it, if you use the cast iron teapot only for infusion and not as a kettle. To use the teapot as a kettle on the stove, you must fill it with water, bring it to the boil on an indirect flame, then remove it from the heat. You must wait for the desired infusion temperature, to proceed with the infusion through the diffuser. Once the steeping time has elapsed, which depends on the type of tea, the removable strainer must be removed.
The vintage design of the cast iron teapot
The round and low design, and the non-classical colors, give this tea kettle a traditional Asian style but with a retro touch. The decoration with lines and reliefs alternates a groove pattern with a geometric shape. It gives a modern volume to the surface – in the combination of black / silver lines or aviation / gold lines. The basic colors of the teapot, in fact, are two: minimalist and elegant black, or aviation blue – that is, the tone used in air force uniforms with different shades of gray. In both cases, the color note is refined and not too bright, and creates a not particularly Asian look in the cast iron teapot. The linear and distinct design is suitable for any interior design, especially in the black and gold version of the teapot. The metal gives a solid touch perfect for classic or shabby chic interiors, or contemporary, with metal and concrete inserts. Suitable as a furnishing accessory, the cast iron teapot stands out in ethnic, wooden, lacquered furniture. Its touch between the oriental and the modern is also noticeable in the round and high handle. It is designed for a comfortable grip, to pour the tea from a distance, facilitating movements while the water is hot. This handle also prevents drips, as does the short spout with a wide hole, which favors the direct outflow of the liquid. The name is inspired by the city of Nikko in Japan, in a mountainous region full of historical monuments. This cast iron teapot is suitable as an original and elegant gift, which will pleasantly surprise every tea lover.
How to wash and store the cast iron teapot
Maintenance must follow some rules, to prevent the cast iron from oxidizing, forming rust. After use, let it coolgive the teapot completely. Rinse the teapot by hand in hot water. Wash each part without soap or sponges - they could damage the enamel and cast iron. If you use kitchen utensils, be careful not to scratch the internal enamel. Dry the teapot with a dry and soft cloth, and leave it to air without the lid. Make sure that the inside is very dry, especially the spout. Store it in a dry place.
