The Relax blend is a blend of essential oils designed to promote relaxation of body and mind.
Essential oils that make up the blend
The essential oils that make up the Relax blend are obtained from the following plants: sweet orange (Citrus sinensis), ylang-ylang (Cananga odorata), citrine sandalwood (Santalum album), mandarin (Citrus nobilis) and lemon (Citrus limonum).
The plants from which essential oils are obtained
The sweet orange tree (Citrus sinensis) is a medium-sized tree (it usually reaches 12 meters), the leaves are elongated and fleshy, the flowers are white, the fruit is obviously of the color to which it gave its name. It is a hybrid obtained about 4000 years ago from the cross between the pomelo and the mandarin. Citrus sinensis belongs to the Citrus genus (that is, it is a citrus fruit) and to the Rutaceae family. The orange, native to China, was introduced to Europe in the 15th century. Cananga odorata is a medium-sized tree that belongs to the Annonaceae family. It is a very fast growing plant, even more than 5 meters per year, so it reaches its typical size (12 meters in ideal conditions) in a very short time.
The flowers are gathered in clusters, the color starts from greenish yellow and becomes intense yellow when ripe. Two essential oils are obtained from Cananga odorata, the ylang ylang is prized Citrine sandalwood (Santalum album L.) is a small (between 4 and 9 meters tall) tropical tree native to India and Indonesia. The family is that of the Santalaceae. The bark can be brown or reddish, while the woody heart can be pale green or even white and the adjective album (white in Latin) refers to this. Produces small pink flowers gathered in panicles. The mandarin (Citrus nobilis or Citrus reticulata) is a fruit tree of the genus Citrus of the Rutaceae family.
It is a citrus fruit (Citrus precisely indicates citrus fruits) and it is believed that together with pomelo and citron it is one of the three original citrus fruits from which they are born all others who are hybrids. The mandarin is a tree of contained dimensions, it can appear as a shrub of just a couple of meters or reach a maximum of 4. The fruit is notoriously roughly spherical in shape, but slightly flattened and smaller in size than the orange. It is believed that lemon (Citrus limonum) is the result of crossing bitter orange and citron.
It was probably born in China, but it is not easy to be sure since in ancient times it was already widespread in Persia, Iraq and Egypt. The lemon tree has small dimensions (usually between 3 and 6 meters), the flowers are small, white in color and very fragrant, the fruits are spherical (sometimes slightly pointed) and the color is obviously yellow .
