Turmeric and fruit: combinations worth trying
Turmeric is probably one of the best-known and most popular spices thanks to its properties, but we all know it has a very strong, pungent and slightly bitter taste. Pairing it with fruit can be an excellent way to incorporate it into your daily diet. Let’s take a look at the best combinations to try.
Turmeric and citrus fruits
An excellent combination of antioxidants and vitamins, a pairing you can try in freshly squeezed fruit juices, homemade juices, hot or cold infusions, or to make frozen turmeric cubes to keep in the freezer ready for when you need them. We shared the recipe a few posts ago; the main spice in that case was ginger, but you can use the same method with turmeric too.
Turmeric and pineapple
Another excellent combination, both in terms of taste and their similar properties. The pineapple and turmeric mix is widely used in infusions, fresh fruit and vegetable juices, smoothies, milkshakes... and even in ice cream. They’re also excellent mixed with yoghurt for breakfast. You could also add a third ingredient to this combination: blueberries or red berries in general.
Turmeric and banana
Some say they help you lose weight... others attribute other properties to them; we recommend them above all because it is a very pleasant combination, ideal for healthy and filling snacks. Here too, you can let your imagination run wild and mix them with yoghurt, porridge, your favourite muesli, or in smoothies and fruit drinks. Both the combination with banana and that with turmeric also work well in baked goods. The flavour of turmeric also pairs particularly well with coconut, mango and grapes.
What do you think? Will you try any of these?
