Chamomile milk, enveloping and relaxing

Chamomile milk, enveloping and relaxing

The holidays are over, the temperatures are particularly cold... these days we really need a little comfort in a cup... so why not try a camomille latte, a chamomile milk drink, perfect for relaxing before going to sleep.

You can also prepare your chamomile milk using your favourite plant-based drink if you follow a vegan or vegetarian diet.

For each cup, you will need 200 ml of water, 50 ml of milk and two tablespoons of chamomile flowers.

The preparation is really simple. First, bring the water to the boil and leave the flowers to infuse for at least 5 minutes before mixing your chamomile with the milk, which you will have frothed in the meantime.

You can sweeten your drink with brown sugar, honey or your usual sweetener, but chamomile milk is also very pleasant on its own.

Flavour chamomile milk with spices and more.

What we have suggested is the basic version, but you can experiment with this comforting drink in different variations with an extra touch of flavour.

Chamomile milk is excellent with a pinch of cinnamon, accompanied by vanilla, combined with the pungent taste of ginger (you can use either fresh or ground) or the aroma of powdered saffron.

If you want to enhance the relaxing effect, you can combine chamomile with lavender flowers for infusion.
Both the spices and lavender should be added when infusing in hot water, so that they release their aroma and essential oils into the drink.

What do you think, will you give it a try?
