Short on time? Would you like to have an infusion ready in seconds to use after a cold, rainy day, when the symptoms of a cold start to kick in? Well, why not prepare it in advance? Let's see how to make an infusion with ginger, honey and lemon, which can be stored in cubes in the fridge. Ready for when you need it.

It may seem like a bizarre idea, but it's not so strange when you consider how hectic our days have become.
We even freeze bread nowadays... so why not try it in an emergency, even with herbal tea?

We recommend preparing enough frozen infusion cubes to last for a maximum of one or two weeks. You will then have a small supply ready to use by adding enough boiling water.

But how do you prepare it? If you have already armed yourself with a kettle or teapot, you can put them away and grab your blender. Your herbal tea should be prepared cold.
The quantities indicated will be sufficient for about 20-24 infusion cubes.

Prepare:
200 ml of water
2 lemons (preferably organic)
40 g of honey
ginger to taste (fresh or powdered)

Procedure:

Wash and peel the two lemons thoroughly, cut them into small pieces, place the cubes in a blender and blend for at least ten seconds. After this first step, add the water, ginger and honey to the blended lemon. Blend everything until you obtain a smooth purée with the right consistency. If you prefer, you can strain the mixture before pouring it into the ice cube tray.

Ginger infusion in the freezer: alternative recipes

If you want to give your “emergency” infusion a more pungent and aromatic touch, you can add a pinch of black pepper (without overdoing it), turmeric and/or cinnamon.

And if, as winter approaches, you want to add a little extra vitamin boost to your ready-to-use herbal tea, you can include a carrot, orange or grapefruit in the recipe.

When you need it, simply heat the water to the right temperature and add one or two cubes.
