Excessive sweating: which herbal teas can help?
First days of hot weather, the imminent arrival of summer is beginning to make itself felt, but while there are those who can't wait for this period to pass, there are also those who can't wait for it to pass. Excessive sweating can become a source of discomfort as temperatures rise. Let us see together which herbal teas can help us, to quench our thirst and more.
Let us begin with a necessary premise: sometimes we tend to demonise sweating, but sweating is not only natural but it is good for us and necessary for our organism. It is indispensable for the functioning of our body temperature regulation system, useful for the skin and also for circulation (but this does not exempt anyone from taking a nice shower).
In some cases, however, this sweating can become excessive, so much so that it becomes not only a cause of discomfort, but a real problem in everyday life and in terms of health, which should be reported to your doctor.
Herbal teas best suited for excessive sweating
We will never tire of emphasising it, infusions are not ‘magic potions’ or miracle finds, but they can be a useful support for our well-being in many cases.
For those who struggle daily (and especially during the night, to the detriment of quality sleep) with this problem, one of the most suitable herbal teas is sage. Salvia officinalis is considered in herbal medicine to be an anti-hyperhydrotic herb, and the infusion made from its leaves can be helpful in counteracting excessive sweating and finding some relief during sultry days. We realise that if you suffer from heat, drinking a hot drink may seem like a contradiction in terms, but if you just can't do it, lukewarm or cold will do just as well (but be warned that the taste may be slightly different). Sage is not the only official herb indicated in these cases, willow bark, elder flowers, gentian root, nettle leaves, spirea and eucalyptus may also help. If, on the other hand, the cause of your excessive sweating is related to a general state of tension, you could try relaxing by sipping a cold infusion of passion flower, linden. And if you need a breath of freshness...definitely try an infusion based on mint.
