The boldo, also called the tree of Chile, is a medicinal plant perennial of the Monimiacee family. Boldo has always been used by populations living in the Andes for its stimulating properties of the gastrointestinal tract, in fact this plant is able to regulate the production of bile, fluidize it, activate and protect the liver and help digestion. Boldo also has a slightly laxative, detoxifying and diuretic action, it is useful for treating gallstones and urinary tract problems. Do not exceed in taking boldo as excessive doses can cause vomiting, diarrhea and convulsions. Boldo is contraindicated in pregnancy.
