The combination of almonds and chocolate is a classic of the Italian confectionery tradition, just to give an example: chocolate-covered almonds are a traditional dessert from Puglia. In chocolate nougat, the cheaper hazelnuts are most commonly used, but there is no shortage of more elaborate variations of chocolate nougat with almonds, sometimes combined with pistachio, other times with the same hazelnuts. But even simply dipping some mixed dried fruit, usually hazelnuts and almonds, in a melt of dark chocolate is a way to make a simple and delicious dessert. An extra dark chocolate bar with almonds, in addition to being a treat, could also be an energy snack that adds the beneficial properties of dried fruit to the calories of chocolate, suitable for athletes who do intense physical activity, who certainly do not have to worry about excess calories but about filling up on energy. All the ingredients of this chocolate bar are organic, including the almonds.
