It is a very rare pepper with a special flavor, much appreciated by connoisseurs and chefs, so much so that it is classified as one of the best varieties of pepper in the world. The plantations of this tea are located in the highlands of Kaproret, Saramek and Chemase in the Kericho district. Due to their striking golden leaf tips, strong and slightly floral flavor, these are often mistaken for Chinese Yunnan teas.
